Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • How does God make the plants, and what does he build into them so they keep coming back?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself, my work and my land?

    • What does it say about the ground that God told it to bring out the plants? What is your soil for?
  3. What will I obey this week, at home and on my land? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • What will you do this week to care for the soil or the seed so it can keep producing — and when?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who could you thank God with, out loud, for the next planting or harvest?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, you spoke and the ground brought out plants that carry their own seed, harvest after harvest. Thank you for a world built to keep on feeding us. Make us careful with what you made to last.
