Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • What does God give the man and the woman, and what does he give for food — to people and to the animals?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself, my work and my land?

    • If ruling the earth is part of being made in God's image, what kind of ruler does that make you on your own land?
  3. What will I obey this week, at home and on my land? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • What will you do this week on your land or with your animals that rules them the way God would — and on what day?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who works the land beside you — a spouse, a son, a neighbour — that you will talk this through with?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, you made us in your image and gave us the earth to rule. Forgive us where we have ruled it like owners instead of like you. Teach us to rule the way you do.
