Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • What is creation waiting for in this passage, and what does Paul say God will set it free from?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself, my work and my land?

    • Where do you see the "bondage to decay" on your land, and how does this hope change the way you see it?
  3. What will I obey this week, at home and on my land? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • What will you do this week that treats God's creation as something he means to set free — and on what day?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who has given up on the land around them, as if it will only ever get worse?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, the whole creation is groaning and waiting to be set free from decay. We see it in tired soil and dying animals and in our own bodies. Give us hope for the glory you will show, and make us live as your children now.
