Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • What does God promise his people in Leviticus, and what does Habakkuk decide to do when every crop and animal has failed?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself, my work and my land?

    • What has failed for you — a harvest, an animal, a plan — and where has your joy been resting instead of in God?
  3. What will I obey this week, at home and on my land? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • What will you do this week to rejoice in God in a loss you are carrying — and when?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who has lost a harvest or an animal this year and needs someone to sit with them and read this?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

Lord, you promised your people rain in its season, and still there are years when the fig tree does not blossom and the stalls are empty. Even then, be our joy. Give us feet like the deer's to walk the high places.
